VOLUNTEER INFO

AMBA is a non-profit organization that thrives on the contribution of time and expertise from volunteers. All AMBA Board and Committee members, Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Team Managers are unpaid volunteers who contribute hundreds of hours each season to support our players. To continue growing and improving, we rely on all families involved in AMBA to donate some time to the association. Therefore, in 2011, AMBA established a mandatory volunteer commitment policy. By registering your player, you agree to the terms and conditions of AMBA’s volunteer policy.

During registration, you will be charged $0.01, and a post-dated payment of $199.99 will be set for the end of the season. If paying by E-Transfer, KidSport, or JumpStart, you must provide AMBA with a $200 deposit cheque post-dated to the end of the season or an e-transfer within 24 hours of registration per athlete for volunteer hours. Please review the responsibilities for each volunteer opportunity before signing up for a role. Everyone must fulfill their chosen role to ensure the program runs smoothly for our athletes.

Anyone who does not fulfill the volunteering requirements will have their post-dated credit card fee charged at the end of the season. It is the responsibility of parents/caregivers/players to ensure their volunteer commitments are met. Do not rely on Coaches, Team Managers, or AMBA to remind you.

AMBA welcomes volunteers, even if you do not have a child participating in our program. Depending on the position, a Vulnerable Sector Check might be required. To apply for a volunteer position, select the role during registration or email volunteer@airdriebasketball.ca.

Each player on a team must have a family member fill one TEAM ROLE or an ALTERNATE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY role.
